The Winnipeg Jets won it in a shootout, David Perron is excelling in his new home, Patrick Sharp shows some grit and a captain earns a hat-trick in a single period.
Here are four stories:
Little ends it in shootout
The Winnipeg Jets keep rolling. They now have at least a point in their last six games after a 4-3 shootout victory over the Arizona Coyotes.
Jets forward Bryan Little scored the game-winner, netting the only shootout goal. The 27-year-old also opened the scoring early in the first period.
Beating the King
Since departing from the Edmonton Oilers in a trade to the Pittsburgh Penguins, forward David Perron has doubled his goal total for the season. The 26-year-old has managed to do it in only six games with his new team.
He netted his 10th goal in pretty impressive fashion, going five-hole on one knee to beat Henrik Lundqvist.
The Penguins fell to the New York Rangers 5-2, but Perron had a two-point night and is clearly enjoying his time with Pittsburgh.
Holds his own
Chicago Blackhawks forward Patrick Sharp isn't exactly known as a fighter, but after a dust-up with Dallas Stars forward Shawn Horcoff we know he can definitely defend himself.
The Winnipeg native took exception to a hit from Horcoff in the second period of Sunday's game, and made sure Horcoff was well aware.
The Blackhawks ended up conceding their first back-to-back loss since early November, falling 6-3 to Dallas.
Hats fly for the captain
Three third period goals sealed a 6-4 victory for the Detroit Red Wings and a hat-trick for captain Henrik Zetterberg. They handed the Buffalo Sabres their 11th straight loss.
