The Los Angeles Kings finished off one final celebration before beginning defence of their Stanley Cup title.

Prior to their season opener against the San Jose Sharks at Staples Center Wendesday night, the Kings raised their 2013-14 Stanley Cup banner two days after players received their rings.

The ceremony also included the careful lowering of the Stanley Cup. Captain Dustin Brown then raised the hallowed trophy to the roaring approval of the L.A. crowd.

Even Los Angeles Clippers coach Doc Rivers was on hand to snap a shot of the Stanley Cup banner.
