Daniel Briere's 300th NHL goal against the Boston Bruins had a little magic to it. Not only did he deliver the struggling Colorado Avalanche their first win of the season on Monday, he did so with less than a second remaining on the clock.

Standing alone in front of Bruins goalie Niklas Svedberg, Briere controlled the puck in the crease before burying a shot into the net as time expired.

The 2-1 victory stops a two-game slid in which the Avs were outscored by a combined 8-0 to the Minnesota Wild, the team that knocked out Colorado in the first round of last season's Stanley Cup playoffs.
