Sometimes it's best to simply pump your fist, high-five your teammates or yell in excitement after making a touchdown catch or, in Steve Tulloch's case, sacking a quarterback.

The starting middle linebacker for the Detroit Lions brought down Green Bay's Aaron Rodgers late in the first quarter of Sunday's 19-7 victory and wanted to let the packed house at Detroit's Ford Field know how proud he was to sack the Packers' start pivot.

Tulloch sacked Rodgers, jumped through the air and looked as though he was attempting to mimic the quarterback's "title belt" celebration but then his left knee gave out. Have a look:

Tulloch tried to return to the game on the next series but he fell to the turf after one play.

The 29-year-old ended up tearing the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee that ends his season after three games.

Tulloch hasn't missed a game since Tennessee drafted him in the fourth round in 2006, having played 131 consecutive regular-season games with the Titans and Lions.

"You're passionate about the game. You want to get up and celebrate," the five-foot-11, 245-pound Tulloch told reporters after Sunday's win.

"I ain't embarrassed by nothing. We all celebrate when we make a play."
