With the NHL's regular season winding down, the jockeying for Stanley Cup playoff positions becomes more intense.
It was a very good Thursday night for Canadian teams, with Calgary and Winnipeg punching their tickets for the playoffs while Ottawa moved into the first wild-card position in the Eastern Conference and now controsl its destiny with one game remaining. The Red Wings and the Islanders also secured playoff spots.
