Apparently Kyle Lowry was saving something special for his first-ever appearance at the NBA all-star game on Sunday at Madison Square Garden in New York.

The Toronto Raptors guard, who was voted in by fans, elevated for a put-back jam off a missed jump shot by LeBron James.

According to Marv Albert of TNT, the six-foot Lowry hadn't dunked in a game since 2009.

A funny side note is that Lowry essentially dunks over Eastern Conference teammate Carmelo Anthony, who also had his eye on the rebound.

Nevertheless, Lowry's demonstration of hops caught the Raptors' Twitter account by surprise:

Earlier in the contest, Lowry showcased some of his other talents when he stole the rock and set up John Wall for an alley-oop at the other end.

Now if Lowry could have just stepped in front of someone to draw one of his patented charges, that would have made for quite the hat trick.

The 28-year-old played 25 minutes and finished with 10 points, eight assists and a game-high four steals in a 163-158 loss to the Western Conference.
