The pucks were bouncing and the checks were hard Thursday night in the NHL as 18 teams hit the ice. The Leafs lost again, the Oilers beat the Habs in overtime and the Sens lost in a shootout.
In case you missed the action, it's time for another edition of the five must-see goals of the night.
Ryan Nugent-Hopkins sends the Habs to OT
The Oilers' Ryan Nugent-Hopkins broke some hearts in Montreal as his third period goal, with 25 seconds left in the game, gave Edmonton the opportunity to earn the win in overtime and defeat the Canadiens 4-3. The point from the overtime loss gave Montreal first-place in the Eastern Conference.
It was Hopkins second goal of the night, as he had already tied the game once in the second period at two goals a piece. Max Pacioretty got one for the Habs and now leads the league in third-period goals, scoring his 16th of the season. He has 25 goals overall.
Overtime didn't go well for Montreal as the Canadiens' Tom Gilbert tripped his own goalie allowing the Predators' Anton Lander to throw in the winner.
2 rookies combine for their 1st NHL points
It wasn't all bad for the Canadiens as two of their younger players hit a big milestone, combining on a goal to earn their first points in the NHL. Christian Thomas picked up a puck from fellow rookie Jacob De La Rose and took it into the Oilers zone to open the scoring in Montreal.

Islanders' Lee scores the winner
The Islanders got a pair of goals from forward Anders Lee but it was his second that made the difference in New York's 3-2 win over the Maple Leafs. Lee took a rebound off a shot from Josh Bailey and slid it home, five-hole on Leafs goalie Jonathan Bernier. Bernier made 38 saves but lost his eighth consecutive start.
New York's win was a big one for goalie Jaroslav Halak who recorded a career-best 30th victory of the season. He now sits only two wins behind the league-leader in goaltender wins, Nashville's Pekka Rinne.
Sens score four in the third, Turris ties it up
It was all over but the crying until the Ottawa Senators put forth an incredible effort to score four goals in the third period to send the game against the Penguins to overtime. Kyle Turris scored the tying goal for Ottawa with four minutes left in the game.
The Penguins won 5-4 in a shootout.

Forsberg shoots down the Jets with franchise record goal
Predators' rookie sensation Filip Forsberg scored a franchise-record 19th goal of the season and in so doing led his team to a 3-1 victory over the Winnipeg Jets. It was Nashville's fourth straight win.
The Jets came into the game with two straight wins under their belt. It was the first game for Drew Stafford and Tyler Myers after the trade that sent Evander Kane to Buffalo. The Jets' Michael Frolik provided the only offence for Winnipeg, scoring his eleventh goal of the season.
