Chris Neil may not be taking to the ice again anytime soon, but he certainly went out in style on Saturday.
The Ottawa Senators announced that their enforcer suffered a fractured thumb in a fight with Edmonton Oilers winger Luke Gazdic and will be out indefinitely as a result.
Plenty of punches were exchanged and a helmet went flying during the tussle that began after a faceoff at centre ice early in the second period.
The Senators cruised to a 7-2 victory over the Oilers at Canadian Tire Centre.
