Taylor Hall and Jordan Eberle among those to offer opinion.

When the Edmonton Oilers were blanked 2-0 by the New York Rangers at Rexall Place on Sunday night, it certainly seemed like the team had hit a wall. Not only was it the Oilers' fourth loss in a row, but it was also their 15th defeat in 16 games dating back to Nov. 11.
So on Monday, general manager Craig MacTavish decided to make a move and it was head coach Dallas Eakins who took the fall as he was relieved of his duties behind the bench.
Although the decision to fire Eakins isn't a total shock, the shake-up came just 10 days after MacTavish indicated that he wasn't planning to tinker with the roster or coaching staff.
Here is what Taylor Hall and teammates Jordan Eberle, and Andrew Ference had to say about the news.
The dismissal of Eakins, who compiled a record of 36-63-14 since taking over the team at the start of the 2013-14 season, is likely just the first shoe to drop.
Do you agree with the firing of Dallas Eakins?
