Toronto Maple Leafs goalie James Reimer was having a solid game against the Rangers Sunday night until he was clipped in the head by Rangers forward Dominic Moore with 13:17 remaining in the third period.

As per NHL protocol, Reimer was sent to a quiet area to be evaluated. Reimer, who has a history of concussion issues, was replaced by Jonathan Bernier.

The Leafs' public relations department told Sportsnet reporter David Amber that Reimer was "fine" but the team was keeping him out of the game as a precaution.

Reimer stopped 24 of 26 shots before leaving the game.

The Leafs went on to beat the Rangers 6-3 to earn their first win of the season. Reimer confirmed that he was "fine" after the game
