With LeBron James reportedly mulling whether to sign with the Miami Heat or return to the Cleveland Cavaliers, basketball fans are scouring the internet for any morsel of info about where the NBA's best player will end up.
In this age of blanket, no-such-thing-as-an-off-season coverage of the NBA, everyone, it seems, is a reporter. Some are just more reliable than others.
As the LeBron rumours fly, former heavyweight boxing champ Riddick Bowe "broke" this "news" on Twitter:
He followed with these tweets:
Problem: The Raptors don't have the cap space to sign LeBron, and he's indicated no interest in joining them.
Then there's Bowe, who hails from Brooklyn, N.Y., but seems to have an odd (and confusing) interest in the Toronto sports scene:
Problem: Trading a draft pick for a player in a whole different sport, who's never played your sport, probably violates any number of league rules.
And despite his strangely spot-on knowledge of the Leafs' hashtag, Bowe's hockey intelligence seems questionable:
Problem: Ovechkin is engaged to Russian tennis player Maria Kirilenko.
So, yeah, don't listen to Riddick Bowe.
