Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment President and CEO Tim Leiweke discussed several topics while appearing on George Stroumboulopoulos Tonight on Thursday.
Leiweke began the interview admitting that Toronto rapper and Raptors global ambassador Drake led the recruitment of Toronto FC striker Jermain Defoe.
He then conceded the brass at MLSE came close to changing the Raptors name, with Huskies among the favourites.
Leiweke also said the Leafs are committed to a winning culture in spite of all the criticism his organization has received during a recent eight-game losing streak.
