The Colorado Avalanche will be without the services of Tyson Barrie for the remainder of Game 3, and maybe longer, after taking a knee-on-knee hit from Minnesota's Matt Cooke.

Just 2:02 into the second period of a scoreless game, Barrie was forced to head to the locker room following the hit just two minutes into the second period of the scoreless game.

Barrie was diagnosed with an medial collateral ligament (MCL) injury that could sideline him for as much as six weeks.

Cooke was issued a two-minute minor for kneeing, and found out after the game that he will be offered an in-person hearing with the NHL's department of player safety.

An in-person hearing means any possible suspension could exceed five games.
