The B.C. rink led by John Morris and Manitoba's Jeff Stoughton both remained unbeaten after two draws Saturday at the Canadian men's curling championship.
In the evening draw at the Tim Hortons Brier, Morris beat Northern Ontario Brier rookie Jeff Currie 8-2 in eight ends, after struggling earlier to edge Alberta's Kevin Koe 7-6.
Currie split the day, beating New Brunswick's Jamie Grattan 13-5 in the opener.
First-draw winners Brad Gushue from Newfoundland and Labrador and Stoughton needed an extra end before Stoughton stole one for a 6-5 win. Both skips blamed crazy ice for final draws that were at least five metres short.
In their only draws, Ontario's Greg Balsdon opened his first Brier by edging Quebec veteran Jean-Michel Menard 9-7 and Saskatchewan's Steve Laycock beat the Northwest Territories-Yukon's Jamie Koe 8-5.
