A trail of blood drops shadowed Montreal Canadiens forward Dale Weise as he made his way off the ice Saturday night.

The good news? He was able to leave under his own power.

The bad news? He would require several stitches to repair a nasty gash he sustained after taking a skate to the face in the second period against the Maple Leafs.

Weise and Nazem Kadri got tangled up while pursuing the puck in the second period of Montreal's 4-3 overtime win, and Kadri's skate caught Weise as he slid into the end boards. He would leave and later return to the game.
