Brayden Schenn staggered to his skates almost immediately after taking a massive hit in the corner on Tuesday night, but he collapsed equally as fast.

With 4:43 left in the second period, the Philadelphia Flyers forward then tried to get up again. Keeled over in visible pain, Schenn dropped to the ice again and lay there face down as the trainer came over to his assistance.

Schenn was the victim of a vicious hit from behind from Washington Capitals forward Tom Wilson — one that sent the forward's head smashing into the boards at an awkward angle — that will almost certainly draw the attention of Brendan Shanahan and the National Hockey League.

Schenn left the game with an upper-body injury and Wilson was assessed a five-minute major for charging, five for fighting and a game misconduct.
