Jerry D'Amigo's seventh career NHL game was pretty memorable, but the Toronto Maple Leafs forward may not remember it very well. 

That's because the 22-year-old native of Binghamton, N.Y., was rocked on a dangerous hit by Pittsburgh Penguins defenceman Robert Bortuzzo on Monday night midway through the third period of Toronto's 3-1 loss. 

D'Amigo was crossing centre ice, when Bortuzzo levelled him with what appeared to be a high hit. The five-foot-11, 208-pound winger was down and in visible pain for several moments before heading to the bench. 

He would return to the game, only to be clocked again by Bortuzzo and ended up leaving with what the team's Twitter account said was a shoulder injury. 

Luckily for Bortuzzo, though, the league has reportedly decided against any supplemental discipline.
