The people have spoken. 

Fans selected decathlete Damian Warner as Canada's Athlete of the Year, voted The People's Pick in a poll conducted by Scott Russell and CBCSports.ca over the past several weeks. The announcement was made on CBC Sports Weekend Saturday.

With more than 12,000 votes cast, Warner earned 33 per cent of them. Patrick Chan (23 per cent) and Milos Raonic were (16 per cent) were the next closest competitors. 

Warner, who won bronze at the athletics worlds in Moscow this summer, joined Russell to talk about the accomplishment.
