Halloween may have been last week, but that didn't stop a fan at the Chicago Blackhawks-Jets game from tricking Adam Pardy and treating himself to the Winnipeg defenceman's helmet.

Pardy was levelled into the boards on what appeared to be a clean hit by Chicago's Brandon Bollig late in the third period of the Hawks' 4-1 win.

The glass was displaced on the play and it collapsed on the crowd in the front row, prompting a fan with some sticky fingers to reach out and try on Pardy's head protector in a comical display of fan interference. The video also appears to show another fan dumping what looked like a cup of beer on the Jets blue-liner.
