Stanley Cup Stories: Hawks survive Bruins' wild comeback

Written By Unknown on Kamis, 20 Juni 2013 | 21.22

Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane rejoined forces as the Chicago Blackhawks held off the resilient Boston Bruins in overtime and evened up the Stanley Cup final at two games apiece. This and more in the top NHL playoff stories from Wednesday:

1. It had been a while since we last saw the Bruins trail by two goals, so they reminded the Blackhawks what they were capable of. A reunion between Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane led to a 3-1 Chicago lead in the second period — the first time both scored in the same game this post-season — but Boston sparked a momentum shift with Patrice Bergeron's pair of goals and forced an overtime with Johnny Boychuk's blast. However, halfway through extra time, Brent Seabrook's slap shot ended Game 4 to give Chicago a 6-5 victory. The Blackhawks return home to begin the best-of-three Saturday (CBC, CBCSports.ca, 7:30 p.m. ET).

2. Seabrook sure has a knack for burying those OT goals, but the Chicago defenceman says it's no biggie, writes CBCSports.ca's Tim Wharnsby.

3. According to pro golfer Lee Westwood, the high-scoring affair was the quintessential Stanley Cup final contest. These NHLers of past and present also gave their take on Twitter, while these fans added their analysis.
