The winning streak is now 26 and counting.
The Miami Heat, who throttled the Charlotte Bobcats 109-77 on Sunday, own the second longest streak in NBA history.
Vote: Can Miami Heat break L.A. Lakers' win streak record?
Only the Los Angeles Lakers stand in their way of basketball immortality. The Lakers, under legends Jerry West and Wilt Chamberlain, won an unprecedented 33 straight games during the 1971-72 season.
Still, the record is within sight.
The Heat's next seven games are as follow: @Orl, @Chi, @NO, @SA, NY, @Cha, Pha.
Should Miami run the table and equal L.A.'s mark, its potential record-breaking game would come at home against the Milwaukee Bucks on April 8.
Considering five of the next six contests are on the road, including one against the Western Conference-leading San Antonio Spurs, this latest stretch won't be easy. But with the way Miami has been pulling out fourth-quarter victories lately, reeling off another eight straight wins is certainly possible.
