Martin Brodeur is arguably one of the best goaltenders of all-time.

And after Thursday night, he may be revered as the greatest goal-scoring goalie the game has ever seen.

Less than four minutes into the first period of the Devils' 4-1 win over the Carolina Hurricanes, the New Jersey netminder got credit for an odd power-play goal in his first game since a back injury sidelined the 40-year-old on Feb. 21.

On a delayed penalty against New Jersey, Hurricanes forward Jordan Staal attempted to clear the puck back to the point for an offensive set-up. However, goalie Dan Ellis had vacated his post to get the extra attacker on and the puck bounced off the boards, went all the way down the ice and into the Carolina net.

Brodeur was the last Devils player to touch the puck, making him the only NHL netminder with three career goals. The always entertaining Ron Hextall is next in line with two.
