Martin Brodeur holds the all-time NHL records for games played by a goaltender, wins and shutouts. Imagine the Devils goalie's resume had he not missed out on half of the 1994-95 season, the entire 2004-05 campaign, and the first three-plus months of this season due to lockouts.
For the chart below, we calculated what Brodeur's stats might look like, based on his career percentages for games played, wins and shutouts.
For his part, Brodeur has said that he doesn't care about the wins and shutouts he may have missed due to the lockout, but he does wonder about missing an opportunity in 2004-05 to add to his Stanley Cup total. Back then Brodeur was coming off back-to-back Vezina Trophies, and was only two years removed from his third Stanley Cup final. Maybe there was a fourth Stanley Cup in the making that season.
