Quick, the reigning Conn Smythe Trophy winner, stunned the Oilers with a plethora of massive saves for the majority of the first two periods and helped guide the Kings to a 1-0 lead late in the third.

Cue Nail Yakupov.

The Oilers rookie scored the with just under five seconds left in the third period, not long after Edmonton had one called back due to a controversial goaltender interference call.


Sam Gagner then provided the overtime heroics, with his first goal of the campaign and dealing the defending Stanley Cup champion Kings their third straight loss to open the season.
